grounding

in the studiospent most of the day
tweaking both posts on these are poems
even though this means no painting,
aside from the watercolors
i find myself feeling unexpectedly grounded
at the end of the day

pea poem

in the studiotrying something new
as with all beginnings
it's a bit rough around the edges
i know what the problems with it are
(a little too labored, not enough flow, a bit too literal)
but i have to start somewhere...

seedlings in the studio

in the studio
this spring i saw how tough i can be on my plants
i have a kind of sink or swim attitude towards them
once they are in the ground,
it's not that nurturing
and it echos how i treat myself
but this past week,
seeing the effect of these strong winds;
the destruction they have caused
has made me think about being more protective
