slow start

my new years always begins slowly
because i honestly don't really celebrate it until my bday 2 weeks later
which is great;
i recover from the holidays
get my sh*t in order
and then...
a fresh start

right now
this approach is especially useful
the 1stfans project
which has dominated the past 2 weeks
will be half way through
and my head will be clear to paint

01.01.10 and i do have a resolution,
when i was little, i had an autograph book
and my mother wrote in it:
this above all, to thine own self be true
and that is what i am holding on to going into this next decade
i believe it is the single most important thing i can do for my work

about a week ago i mentioned a project i am doing with the Brooklyn Museum
it's part of a membership program,
so initially it won't be viewable to the general public
but it is going to start out with a request that people provide an image
of their new year's resolution
the drawing on the right is my first go at this
