red book...again

another red book dialogue
this time with david byrne
and again i was reminded about something very important to me

the discussion was about content coming from the subconscious
byrne said often times he looks back
after completing a work
and realizes that something that he thought of
maybe a year earlier
and trusted, without knowing what it was about
was the germ for it

my version of this is called the leap painting:
i make something that i don't understand
but i realize it's where i need to go
then
i spend the next year,
maybe two,
maybe three
figuring out what it is about
this painting is what i consider to be my current leap
