beach

in the studiofamiliar
yet
strange...
i used to paint on the beach,
every summer for years,
honestly, it was the only way i felt all right leaving the studio:
making one where ever where i was going
even if it was a vacation.

thanksgiving

in the studioworking at the window of my brother's house
brings me back to those days
painting on the beach
meditating on the horizon line
getting lost in the hugeness of the sea and the sky
trying to capture the vastness
while getting seduced by the infinite movement of the waves
there is a sense of pure well being
connected with this
and there is much to be thankful for

sublime

on the beachtoday was so much about traveling
(and i am making this post 4 days later: no internet access where i was)
that i kind of "forgot" to take a studio shot
and this is a bit forced...
cropped, so that i can make the connection that i want to
it is also certainly not the most sublime image of the trip

but this line
the horizon between the sea and the sky
was my subject matter for more than one project
and the beach was my studio
(i need to find a better image to link to than this,
i took so many
and i can even see them in my mind's eye,
blueberries, coffee, palette, brushes, sand, sea
just can't remember where they are posted...)
