i started laboring over this too much
so i peeled back some of the layers
and painted over others
and am looking at another fresh start
but some things i have saved


and added to paintings i am trying not to totally obliterate

these paintings are another manifestation of my wip* (work in progress) projects

i made 3 tweets on ivegotasecret today that were basically about this painting
(which for some reason i seem to want to turn on its side)
if you missed them:

it's a precarious place to be - it's almost complete but the full essence needs to be coaxed out...and in that process you can lose it

and you go forward knowing this & also knowing that truly transcendent work skips this step; the essence appears as part of the process

but there is no other way to learn, to isolate, to refine, to hone in on the truth, there is no other way to increase your vocabulary

i need to trust the process
and incomprehensibly

to painting it out with white
