the strangest things can become precious
like when you need find that 100 white map pins are needed to hang a show
and there are none to be had except ones that are in use
and when you try to remove them from the wall
the little heads come off...

i managed to collect enough :)

i also managed to post a show invitation

and looking for something else

i found this version of a self portrait that strangely,
i didn't use, i kind of like it

estranged

another one of those days
where the studio picture i take (below)
doesn't really do it for me
and it feels like something else needs to be here
there are so many conflicting things in my head right now
about work/posting/growth
and i am a bit unnerved by how isolated i have become
there is nothing like going through a list of people that you used to know
to make it clear
how estranged you have become
it's not a bad thing
but it feels a bit sad

this is the 100th (and final) drawing of the grid project
it came off of the work that i am showing at sugar beginning this saturday
if you don't receive an email about it
don't be insulted
i am having a hard time with reaching out

a taste of sugar

maybe you saw a few days ago (9/18)
that i laid out a project that i am roughly 3/4 of the way through.
(it began 1/15/09 and it will end 1/14/10)
but a piece of it (4/15-5/14)
will be on view beginning saturday (9/26) as part of sugar's inaugral show.

all of a sudden i realize this means i need to
a. document the work (hence the scanning yesterday)
b, find a title for the piece: it feels like a month to me
&
c. sign and number the 30 drawings that make up this section (above)

@ponto e virgula well, on saturday we'll see how gwendolyn does it, :)

eating in the studio, again

and i am happy i put out those drawings yesterday
1 month of them will be in the inaugural show at a new space called "sugar"
conceived & launched by the multi-talented gcs
i am quite excited to be a part of this
it feels like the right time
& the right energy

(that was spanakopita, octopus salad & olives, btw)
