paint today

in the studiothinking that what i painted today
could be part of a show entitled:
"yes, your 5 year old could do that, but why would they want to?"

new year's resolution

in the studio
last night | today

01.01.10 and i do have a resolution,
when i was little, i had an autograph book
and my mother wrote in it:
this above all, to thine own self be true
and that is what i am holding on to going into this next decade
i believe it is the single most important thing i can do for my work

about a week ago i mentioned a project i am doing with the Brooklyn Museum
it's part of a membership program,
so initially it won't be viewable to the general public
but it is going to start out with a request that people provide an image
of their new year's resolution
the drawing on the right is my first go at this

and below is a slideshow of december's flickr posts

on so many levels
literally, virtually and spiritually
all from a connection formed through blogging
over many years

there's an explanation for everything

in the studiothese paintings are taking so long to dry
and they need to be kept flat
and i am running out of room on the ground...
so i am using the footers that support our deck
to create some air space so i can stack them
