seedlings in the studio

this spring i saw how tough i can be on my plants
i have a kind of sink or swim attitude towards them
once they are in the ground,
it's not that nurturing
and it echos how i treat myself
but this past week,
seeing the effect of these strong winds;
the destruction they have caused
has made me think about being more protective

fragile

the lessons of nature are many
some are inspiring
some are frightening
fragility is both

seed

thinking about allowing
as opposed to controlling
thinking about how growth needs nurturing
but can't be forced
thinking about seeds
