alien life form

i might get stuck in a project
my world might become totally consumed by the screen
but life
as in real life
just keeps going
and it's really a personal decision;
how one wants to engage

the steady growth of this plant
is a more powerful symbol
of time passing
than any ticking clock
than any calendar page

and what it says to me is
STOP
and
OBSERVE
this moment won't happen again

(i suppose if you have kids, this is kind of obvious)
