i have been doing a lot of thinking about the virtual in relation to the work
(mostly on the twitter that accompanies this blog: ivegotasecret)

some of it has to do with sharing
some of it with self promotion
and a lot of it with how the 2 intersect
the result of which is the manufacturing of an on-line persona
whether or not that is the main intention

i use a lot of different blogging/social media formats
and each of them has come to have an almost a physical presence for me
with its own set of characteristics that dictate the type of posts i make on each

one of the most recent additions is a tumblr: morerandomthoughts
it is a collection of stuff i find interesting on the web,
stuff that has meaning to me and that might to you
but i find it very self conscious
because the way i post to it has a lot to do with how i want to be seen

there is something that i am trying to sort out here,
this new way of living
which sometimes feels vital
and sometimes,
when i think of what i have traded in to make the time for it
really makes me wonder...
