new years eve

in the studiomaybe not the most wonderful of photographs...
but these are the last paintings from 2010

if i look back on this decade
from the point of view of the studio
it was a time of tremendous growth for me

early on, in the aftermath of 9/11,
i founded theARTproject
which began my involvement with images on-line,
in the years that followed
my virtual life intensified
and at times it blended more seamlessly with my studio life
than my physical world did.

during this time,
i found a gallery
(or a gallery found me)
and i had 2 one woman shows in nyc;
my work had begun to mature
i felt i had a voice.

then in 2006,
i pulled up roots
left my home & studio of 25 years
and for 3 years i was untethered & unhappy

last year at this time things began to come together
i had built a new home for body & soul
and (significantly) 9 months later
(which coincided with the beginning of this blog)
i finally felt grounded again

it's been a journey to this new place
and i am so looking forward to what comes next
it has a lot to do with "merging" for me
the photo & the paint
the physical & the virtual

i wish you all love, happiness, peace, joy, health and all good things in 2010 and the decade to come
