inconsistency (not)

the drawing/collage on the bottom is the outcome of
the oblique strategy card that i pulled today:
the inconsistency principle

i set out to make something "inconsistent" with my normal process.
taking another oblique strategy response
that i had discarded
and had then actually painted on the reverse,
i started cutting into it,
turning over the the pieces
and then taping them back in,
using stickers & tape
and then
liking the reverse side better
all the while thinking i would end up with something,
well,
different.
only to find
that it looks surprisingly similar to
and most consistent with
the first thing that i drew today...
